Under the Scotsman's kilt

This is the next experimental Air Force dress uniform.

I am about halfway through reading Diana Gabaldon's Outlander, which might be more romance novel than fantasy-with-dragons-and-wizards I am used to (pause for laughter...).  Due to the Scottish accents, I feel like I should go watch "Braveheart" and maybe "Quigley Down Under" again.  There are also reminescences of "The 13th Warrior" while the Scots are out on raids and drinking around a fire.  I do find it interesting reading the bits of Gaelic, one of which is sgian dubh, the Scottish sock dagger.  They are functional, ornamental and you can wear them to your own wedding (I'm an Eagle Scout, so this falls under "Be Prepared").  You can even buy your own here.  Maybe I should make my own and sell them!

Tonight was a relatively normal night at work, with the exception that my replacement and I (which always sounds so demeaning...maybe I'll say my wee little helper) got to geek out with Microsoft Excel to display some metadata (not Metatron) about our work.  So now we can say, "Look how green this day was!  This bar chart is BLUE!"  Feels like a good Air Force day when you can turn your work into a 3-D histogram, with multicolored legend.

Had a simple dinner tonight and kept picking at the dried apricots a gentleman and a scholar sent me.

Pukka tea with burgers.

Thankfully I have no tours, extra appointments or reasons to break my already skewed circadian rhythms so that means I'll probably dream about work.
