Went in to work early for a tour. Got to see some computers and some buildings. Every time I learn new things I have more questions and am more confused than before.
Tonight's discussion was physics 101, which quickly turned into string theory, relativistic gravity wells and multiple universes in which I don't have a mustache. Frankly I think the latter is highly unlikely, but it kept a conversation going for a few hours and we got to see a guy's (who requested the lesson; "Teach me physics...") eyes roll back into his head as he tried to combine his math knowledge (x + 5 = 0; solve for x) with Einstein, Hawking, Feynman and Dr. Sheldon Cooper. Bazinga.
I found out that I am medically qualified for an advanced course I was hoping to take, but not educationally qualified, i.e. I need to complete the next round of military courses before I can attend. I also determined that the tuition assistance the military offers is just that: assistance. There are some nice courses that PSU offers, which I considered starting over the next two months, but I'd have to pay $1500 per course myself. So, my free personal education on nutrition, finances and mapping will continue.
I tried using my chair in my room as a standing desk for a while, but it didn't really work. I had to move the chair to get to the A/C filter and sometimes I prefer sitting down to type.
